Default Concept class: The Cleric

THE CLERIC

I'm full of excuses. While I was being extremely ugly and bored, I decided to spice up my dull existance and pain you with yet another useless class of a post. If you are wondering about my grammar, English ain't my third language.
So here's a class I aborted halfway through its pregnancy.
The doctors said I couldn't, I said to hell with them. All I'll face is a malpractise something something. To the point!

The Cleric is a masochist. He gladly giveth away from himself for make benefit of others. He have a natural characteristic of a count of four.

First natural characteristic is Altruism. In the this item he give away to honorable others to bring forth benefit.
He cast spelling and enchanting for team. Team love him long time.
The Cleric is honorable towards his many opponent is the cause of this he is become weak to make honorable team member strong.

The following after the first is the second is the Servitude. In this characteristic the Cleric bestows greeting upon his grouped comrades.
Here he make easying for his team to more good operate on field of battles.
He also give healing and save life.

Of the characteristics this is the most three. Idolatry is hold in it small doll that he make on ground. When a doll is on ground he is get power to make happen. He cast spelling is very much like area spelling or he may have saving for self. He even is possible to make doll become alive and move.
The item moving doll exist short time but can make attack on enemy.

Devotion. Is first and most of natural characteristics. He make will to self to all many gods. Five are gods. In item this he have some interesting idea for ability.

If you read all please I am ask you give acknowledgement.


The Attributes:

ALTRUISM
No inherent effect. Skills related to giving from yourself and taking on the woes of others become more
effective with higher Altruism.

SERVITUDE
No inherent effect. Skills related to augmenting the capabilities of others and aiding them in strife become
more effective with higher Servitude.

IDOLATRY
No inherent effect. Skills related to creating small Idols of worship and manipulating said Idols to gain benefits
become more effective with higher Idolatry.

DEVOTION (Primary)
For every 2 ranks in Devotion, whenever you cast a Cleric spell, you gain health equal to 1% of your maximum health.
In addition, skills related to communing with the various gods of the land become more effective with higher Devotion.

All party members lose 1..2..2 Hexes. Each one lost is transferred to you with its remaining duration.


Grant haste
10 EN 1 SEC 3 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 6..11..18 seconds target other ally moves 15%..25%..33% faster but you move 50% slower.
For each affected ally, you move 10% slower.


Blessing of fury
10 EN 1 SEC 15 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds target other ally attacks 33% faster but you take 21..15..9 damage each second.


Grant boon
10 EN 1 SEC 8 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 5..12..16 seconds target other ally's spells targeting other allies heal for 8..16..28 additional health
but every time target ally casts a spell, you lose that amount.


Intervene
5 EN 1/4 SEC 25 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 5 seconds all damage done to target other ally is negated and you take 125%..89%..76% of that damage.


Give life
15 EN 1/4 SEC 12 SEC SPELL
Target other ally gains health equal to 50%..95%..130% of your current health and you lose half the health gained.


Suffer wounds
10 EN 2 SEC 30 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 4..10..14 seconds, every 2 seconds, one condition is transferred from each party member to you
with its remaining duration.


Blessing of vision
15 EN 1 SEC 5 SEC ELITE ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds target other ally is immune to Blindness and Dazed but each time that ally attacks or uses a skill,
you are Blinded for 5 seconds and lose 3% maximum health.


Bloodseal
10 EN 1 SEC 15 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds target other ally deals +2..6..9 additional damage with attacks
but you suffer -6..4..3 health degeneration.


Subdue fevers
15 EN 1 SEC 20 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds all Poison and Disease health degeneration on each party member is negated
and you experience -10..7..5 health degeneration.


Take on scorn
10 EN 2 SEC 40 SEC SPELL
1..2..4 non-Elite disabled skills are recharged for each party member but you cannot use skills for 10 seconds.


Give from within
5 EN 1 SEC 12 SEC SPELL
You lose 5%..17%..25% maximum health and all party members are healed for that amount.


Suffer strikes
10 EN 1/4 SEC 5 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds all damage done to target other ally is reduced by -5..10..15 and you lose 5..2..1 energy every 2 seconds.


Boon of Enchanting
10 EN 1/4 SEC 30 SEC SPELL
Lose 1..4..6 Enchantments. For each one lost, one active Enchantment on each party member is renewed.


Dispel envy
15 EN 1 SEC 20 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds foes with more than 50% health attacking each party member have a 25%..40%..50% chance to miss with attacks.
Whenever a foe misses an attack this way, you lose 8%..5%..3% maximum health.


Fasten
10 EN 1 SEC 5 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 3..8..15 seconds the next time target other ally would have been knocked down,
you are knocked down instead and this Enchantment ends.


Greater haste
10 EN 1 SEC 25 SEC ENCHANTMENT
All party members move 33% faster for 7..10..14 seconds. You lose 10..6..4 health each second for each moving party member.


Absorb harm
15 EN 1/4 SEC 30 SEC ENCHANTMENT
All damage done to party members is negated. When this Enchantment ends after 5 seconds, you die.
Deaths caused by Absorb harm incur no Death penalty.


Martyr's wail
5 EN 1/4 SEC 2 SEC ELITE SPELL
You die. After 2 seconds you are resurrected at full health and 30% energy.
All party members are healed for half of your current health.
Deaths caused by this spell incur only half the normal Death penalty.


Absorb hexes
10 EN 2 SEC 30 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds the next two hexes cast on each party member fail
and you take 32..24..15 damage for each hex failed this way.


Close wounds
15 EN 1 SEC 25 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds all party members suffering a Deep wound gain 56..89..120 to their maximum health.
If any affected party member recovers from Deep wound, you lose health equal to 25%..16%..10% of your maximum health.


Blessing of energy
5 EN 2 SEC 30 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 7..11..15 seconds all party members gain +2 energy regeneration but you lose 40..23..16 health
each time any party member casts a spell.


Share life
10 EN 1/4 SEC 20 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 12 seconds if target other ally would receive fatal damage,
that damage is negated and you lose 100%..62%..33% health instead.


Sudden recovery
5 EN 1/4 SEC 4 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 10 seconds target other ally has a 50% chance when being hit to receive only half the damage
and gain 12..38..46 health and you lose the same amount.


Healing aura
15 EN 1 SEC 25 SEC ENCHANTMENT
For 8 seconds all party members gain 8..15..20 health every second and you lose 1 energy
whenever a party member uses a skill.


Thaumaturgist's sacrifice
10 EN 1/4 SEC 12 SEC SPELL
Heal target other ally for 50..127..145 health. For 4 seconds you cannot move.


Slowlife
10 EN 3 SEC 15 SEC ENCHANTMENT
Bring target dead ally back to life with 5% health. For 8..15..20 seconds that ally gains health equal

Fluorescent renewal

Dampen spells

For 10 seconds, hostile spells targeting other party members cast 15%..33%..75% slower,
but hostile spells targeting you cast twice as fast.


Amplify spells

For 10 seconds, all spells cast by other party members that target allies are cast 15%..33%..56% faster
but you cast spells three times slower than normal.

For 5 seconds target ally's spells and attacks deal holy damage
but all other party members cannot attack or cast spells at foes.


Remediate
15 EN 1 SEC 25 SEC ENCHANTMENT
Target ally moves 25% faster for 5 seconds and all party members gain 7..12..15 health each second.


Slow

Target foe moves 25% slower than normal for 2..5..8 seconds
and all party members cannot be knocked down while attacking that foe.

and the next skill used by that ally returns 2..5..8 energy to that ally.


Generative touch

Target other touched ally gains +1 health regeneration for each point of degeneration
that ally is experiencing for 2..6..8 seconds.


Lay hands

Target other touched ally gains health equal to 2%..67%..100% of your current health.
If target other touched ally was dead, that ally is resurrected with that amount of health and zero energy instead.


Expediate spellcast

roflol, you misspelled the english on porpuse didn't you, or did you use something like free translation.com?

from certain parts in the text and esspecially from the way you named the skills, I can tell your english is better then that of some people that post their classes on the forums, yet your explenations for the attributes sound like Borat talking.

Anyway it's defenatly got something good. Sorta feels like a N/P/Mo
The Idols costing 0 energy to lay may be slightly overpowered, as of the effects you can use them for, as all those marks stack and mark of decay should probably be elite because of that(-9 degen unremovable as it refreshes every sec for 10 sec)
Atruism, on the other hand seems slightly under powered, of the amounts of sacrefice you bring there might be a little more effectiveness in return.

As for the other skills they seem the most blanced I've seen ina long while(better even then the skill's I've attempted to balance myself) exept that conviction (and a number of other servitude skills) might make grievers happy(grievers: those guys that get off on annoying people and try to intentionally make a team they are in, usually in pvp, lose)
when grievers are happy other players are not.

I would say the abortion was sucessfull , I'm hoping to see what the foetus, harvested for stemcell recearch, will grow into.

imagine combining this with other classes, like the monk .Contemplation of Fury gets all of your hexes off !

unbalanced and shitty idea !

It is overpowered, if only a bit if you combine it with the monk profession.

Remind me to flame you when you start a thread, sometime.

I know a Cherlic could remove all the conditions with that 1 skill, I saw it too but notice the conditons forst are applied to the Cherlic and only afterwards to target foe, this means if there is dazed somewhere in that you can't complete the skill and would be stuck with the conditons, also unable to use the idolics condition remover untill daze ends.
also you would have to survive the huge degen you get while casting the skill(if i got it right, and the conditons are applied to you for the casting time before being transefered to the foe) its actually better in balance than the Defiler condition absorbing, and the defiler is popular.

As for the combination with monk, ok they do have several condition removers, just like monks and you could either use devine boon or Servant of Dwayna to heal on top of that, so?
You only have 8 skill slots, a assasin would insta PWN anyone too if they had a 9 attack combo but its a bad idea to take move than 5 skills meant for the same thing.
So maby you could take up to 6 skills from both healing prayers and Altruism and spend the few ability points you have left into devotion, cause well YES OF COURCE YOU HAVE LIMITED ATRIBUTE POINTS TOO!!
And you end up with a build that is higly effective at removing conditions and likely usefull for GvG or 8v8 ascent battles(they didn't make all of those 6v6 right?)
But pretty crappy in every thing else.

The holy damage on hit is pretty low compared to a monks, reduced by armour you could only hit for a max of 20 points per attack on target player(attacks are at their fastest 1.33 with a speed in crease of 25% + 15% = 0.85 though thats rare) amd thusly deal 20*(1+(1-0.85))= 23 damage or normaly 20*(1+(1-1.33))=13.4 damage per second

combine that with the ones the monks have and you have 43 damage per second(almost double that of a degen mesmer true, but the victem can stop attacking when they want to, i.e. mobs run away after to much auto damge hits)

I however stay with Idolatry(I can't help but look for something behind the peculiar pronounciation of it)
is pretty over powered, taken another look and Idolise is even more over powered than marks, its 21-5=16 energy every 20 sec even mesmers don't get that much out of 1 skill.
eitehr increse recharge or make it destroy the idol(however that ruins the backing, it should be called scandal fotographer or homesidal stalker if it destroyed the idol)

As for the multiclassing adding death nova from necro would make Idolatry more unblanced but only by a amount not really noticable to what it already has.
Allowing a Idol to have 1 mark on them maximum might solve the balance problem, though some more tweaking would still be required.
But classes aren't meant to be perfect, Anet devs spend a year to make a class, I'm sure that after a year of hard work this would be close to balanced too, but we are here to inspire the devs not to take their jobs... on the other hand what do you think a profession dev earns? Split by the number of people posting on the classes forum?

The point of the yapping
You only have limited ability points and skill slots, there for you could only combine a max of 3 good atributes in 1 build!
There for even though this class might have some really good abilities that support the good abilities of other classes, they are spread over several atributes making them less usefull if you don't spend points into these attributes, there for you could never have all of them.

But aside from monk, take paragon into account they can be unbalanced to start with and may get really crazy with several of the Cherlic skills(though I'll leave that up to someone who has more experience playing the class with the gay-stripclub dance animation).
